TLA Closed to Walk-In Traffic at 2 p.m. Today (January 21) And Tomorrow (January 22)

Jan 21, 2025 | Archived Emails

Due to the forecast for severe winter weather over the next couple of days with heavy winds, frigid temperatures, and possible snow, rain, or ice, The Landings Association’s office (600 Landings Way) will close to walk-in traffic at 2 p.m. today (January 21). This includes our Public Works and Marinas Offices. We will remain closed to walk-in traffic tomorrow (Wednesday, January 22). Landings Security will remain open 24/7.

Residents and vendors still can conduct business online and by phone. You can reach staff members directly or email webmaster@landings.org

Weather permitting, TLA will reopen to walk-in customers on Thursday, January 23 at 8 a.m.

Below are some highlights from today’s  9 a.m. Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) Weather Briefing.

  • Expect full wintery mix in our area, including dangerous wind chills with values in the mid-to-upper teens. We likely will see rain in the afternoon today (January 21) changing to sleet and then snow overnight. Up to two inches of snow is expected in some areas. However, this is subject to change due to moisture in the Gulf.
  • Refreezing is expected Thursday night and could impact traffic on Friday. Please watch the weather for more details as they become available.
  • Bridges may close like in 2018 (the last time we had a winter storm), as GDOT and Chatham County have limited resources to handle such weather. There will be salt trucks treating main thoroughfares and bridges.
  • Stock food, water, and warm blankets, as power could go out.
  • Please stay off the roads if at all possible during this weather event.

Please stay safe, and follow Chatham Emergency Management Agency for CEMA Alerts. Click here to read a recent CEMA Update outlining more about what we can expect in our area, travel recommendations, ways to prepare for a storm, and how to stay warm should power go out.
