Dog Park

The Dog Park is located near the Water Tower along Landings Way North and Wiley Bottom Road.

To register your dog and obtain a Dog Park permit, you must bring documentation to The Landings Association showing proof from your veterinarian that your dog has had shots for rabies, DHLP/Parvo and Bordetella (kennel cough), within the past year. Fees are $50 for the first dog ($40 per additional dog; $15/dog after September 1).

Hours of Operation

Dawn to Dusk, but not before 7:00 a.m. The Dog Park may be closed periodically for maintenance, weather, or special events without notice.

Users of the facility do so at their own risk.

Users agree to hold harmless and indemnify The Landings Association, its officers, directors, employees, and The Dog Park SubCommittee of the Public Works Committee and from any and all claims (including any injuries and wrongful death) and property damage sustained by anyone as a result of any incident that may occur at this facility.

Each dog must be registered annually with The Landings Association.

Dogs also must be vaccinated for Rabies, Bordatella (kennel cough), and DHLP/Parvo to use the Park. Please note that the Chatham County Animal Services Ordinance requires additional registration for a Rabies tag for each dog.

Dogs must wear their current tags (Association and County), or owners or handlers must be able to show proof that they have them.

Dog Owners are responsible and liable for the actions of their dogs.

The following are prohibited in the Park:

Aggressive dogs – Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression. Dogs showing repeated aggression cannot use the Park until properly socialized.
Puppies under four (4) months of age
Dogs in heat
Sick or injured dogs
Smoking or vaping
Food (including treats and people food) and glass containers
Strollers, carriages, bicycles, or children’s toys – Mobility aids are acceptable.
Children younger than six (6) years of age
Animals other than dogs

The Park is divided into two sections:

(1) the Large Park (the grass section) can be used for all dogs, and (2) the Small Park (the chip/mulch section) is dedicated for small dogs. The small Dog Park area is reserved for dogs 20 pounds or less.

Owners or handlers must remain in the Park while their dog is at the Park.

Waste must be placed in a tightly sealed bag and properly disposed.

Owners or handlers must fill any holes dug by their dog(s).

Owners or handlers are responsible for removing toys, balls, and other items from the Park.

Three (3) dogs per owner or handler is the maximum allowed.

The minimum age to supervise a dog in the Park is 12 years old.

Dogs must be leashed.

Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the Dog Park fenced area. Leashes should be removed in the gated entrance to the Park.

Commercial or professional use of the Dog Park must be done with written permission

Any commercial or professional use of the Dog Park must be done with written permission from the Dog Park Sub-Committee and approved by the Security Committee.
