The Landings Sailing Club (TLSC) sailors continued to be stymied by the same deluges that closed golf courses in August, and are looking forward to getting back to racing in September. Signups for September racing are back to normal levels.
September events:
- Our TLSC “Beer Can” Sailing Socials will be on Friday September 5 and 19. The gathering at the dockside bar at Landings Harbor Marina begins at approximately 6 pm.. following a sailing excursion on the Wilmington River. Register to sail via the weekly email sign up sheet. Ne need to register for the Social.
- Be on the lookout for an announcement about our weather-delayed TLSC Annual Mid-summer picnic. At the picnic, Commodore Doug Powelson will kick off the 2025-26 sailing season and outline the regattas and events to watch out for over the coming months. Additional information to follow as more details become avail.
- Weekly TLSC races in September will be on Sunday the 7th, Saturday the 13th, and Sunday the 21st. Crews gather to rig at about noon.
- Normal racing on Saturday the 27th will be superseded by the annual Chatham Sailing Club Oktoberfest Regatta on September 27th and 28th. A notice of race and registration information will be sent to TLSC members soon.
- TLSC promotes opportunities for club members to sail, and bareboat chartering is a great way to experience the joys of sailing in exotic locations, with experienced other crew members. Our own Angela Margolit leads trips offered by SEAS (Society for the Education of American Sailors). Their next trip is to Martinique in February 2026.
