Post Hurricane Matthew Update (October 12, 2 p.m.)

Oct 12, 2016 | Hurricane Matthew

Power
Power has been restored to almost all of The Landings.

Water and Wastewater
Utilities, Inc. water service continues to be fully operational and is safe to drink.

Now that most of the power has been restored, the sanitary sewer lift stations have returned to an automated status. This means our earlier cautions to minimize use of toilets and garbage disposals are no longer relevant.

If you have tree contractors working on your property, please ensure they avoid fire hydrants and water meter facilities on or near your lot. Hydrant locations are marked by a blue reflector in the street adjacent to the hydrant. In addition, please be mindful that heavy equipment can create excessive pressure on your water service and irrigation lines that can cause them to break and leak.

The significant number of contractors operating heavy equipment for tree removal in our community increases the chance of tree roots disrupting water lines. If you should experience any issues with your water or waste water service, including low or no water pressure, or need any underground facilities located, please report it to 1-888-527-9707.

Streets
At this time, we believe that we have cleared all blocked streets. If you have any knowledge of a street that still is blocked, please let us know as soon as possible at amberc@landings.org or (912) 598-5509.

Contractors and Security
We have numerous reports of door-to-door solicitations by tree contractors. As appropriate, many contractors are obtaining access by being preauthorized to a specific address. However, once they have completed a job, some are roaming the community for additional work opportunities.

If you witness a vendor violating our no solicitation policy, please call Landings Security immediately at 598-1982, option 2. Furthermore, if you see something, say something. Call TLA Security immediately, or 911 if you believe a crime is being committed. We would rather respond to calls of suspicious activity than read about it through social media or an email the next day.

If you believe price gouging is occurring, please call the Attorney General’s Customer Protection Division (404-651-8600), or go online and complete an official form onwww.Consumer.Ga.Gov

Comcast
Todd Antonopouls with Comcast/Xfinity reports that service and maintenance technicians are working around the clock to restore our Landings customer’s Xfinity services. They say they hope to have all services restored within 72 hours from today (October 12). Customers with questions should contact Comcast at (912) 629-6838.
