Suspicious Incident
On Saturday, October 18, Landings Security responded to a residence on Hobcaw Lane for a report of a suspicious incident. The resident stated that she was having dinner when she noticed someone walk into backyard from the cart path that follows along hole #18 of Terrapin Point. She did not get a description of the individual. As the Officer approached the resident’s backyard, she observed Landings Golf & Athletic Club (LGAC) Security traveling down the path. She spoke with the LGAC Officer who explained that he had received a call regarding a group of people at hole #18. He had negative findings in locating the group. The Officer followed up with the resident to let her know that neither she nor the LGAC Officer had observed anyone suspicious in the area.
Unlicensed Golf Cart Driving
On Sunday, October 19, Landings Security observed what appeared to be a young teen driving a golf cart full of juvenile passengers. When asked if he had a driver’s license, the young man replied that he did not. When asked if anyone in the cart had one, he also stated no. The Officer explained the Rules and Regulations to him and asked him to call his parents. Upon speaking with the young man’s father, the Officer learned that he had been given permission to drive the cart. The Officer explained the Rules and Regulations to the father and issued a citation for unlicensed driving.
Traffic Safety Update
The Guardian Pro Camera has been deployed at Shellwind Drive near Sundew Road. From October 15 to 21, there were 62 violations. The highest record speed was 51 MPH.
TLA Rules and Regulations Enforcement (sans Guardian Pro)
- One resident was cited for overnight parking on the street.
- One resident was cited for parking on an unpaved surface.
- One resident was cited for having a trailer on property overnight.
Community Path and Golf Cart Enforcement
- One resident was cited for unlicensed golf cart driving.
