Thefts

On Wednesday, August 27, Landings Security responded to a residence on Middleton Road for a report of a theft. The resident reported that a cement statue was missing from her backyard. She was unsure when the statue went missing as it was located in a part of her yard she rarely visits. She believes that some adolescents may have taken it as a prank. The resident did not want to file a report with Chatham County Police Department (CCPD).

On Thursday, August 28, a resident on Mainsail Crossing contacted Landings Security to report a theft from his residence. The resident stated that a substantial amount of jewelry valued at more than $100,000 was missing from his home. He advised that he first noticed that one of the bags of jewelry was out of place back in May 2025. However, at the time he didn’t find it unusual since the bag’s weight felt normal. Upon examining the bags of jewelry on the date of the report, he realized that many items were missing. The resident believes that someone may have entered the residence through an unlocked door as there were no signs of forced entry. It is unknown who may have taken the items. A report was filed with CCPD, and they are investigating.

On Friday, August 29, a resident on Lakewood Court reported that a package had been stolen off his porch. The resident stated that a package had been delivered earlier in the day. Around 5:50 p.m., he received another package. Upon reviewing his doorbell camera, he witnessed the second delivery driver taking the first package and leaving the premises with it. At the time of the report, the resident had not filed a report with CCPD. The Officer advised him to file one in case this was pattern for that individual, and the resident stated he would.

On Saturday, August 30, a resident on Blue Darter Lane contacted Landings Security to report that four packages had been stolen from their porch on the previous day. According to the resident, she and her husband observed packages on the side of Diamond Causeway near the Pinpoint area and proceeded to examine them. They found the boxes were theirs, plus a package for another resident. Unfortunately, their doorbell camera did not capture the theft as the batteries were dead. A report was filed with CCPD, and they are investigating. It is believed that another delivery driver took the packages.

Fire

On Tuesday, September 2, Landings Security responded to Delegal Creek Marina for a report of an electrical fire. Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) already was on scene performing active fire suppression. Bystanders reported hearing a loud bang and smoke coming from a transformer box. Then they saw flames and the ground cover began burning as well. CCFD successfully extinguished the fire and stood by for Georgia Power to arrive on scene to check the transformer box.

Gas Leak

On Wednesday, August 27, Landings Security responded to a possible gas leak on Back River Circle. CCFD conducted an assessment of the area and identified a small leak. They were able to secure the area and shut off the gas supply to stop the leak.

Vandalism

On Sunday, August 31, while monitoring the cameras at the Main Gate, an Officer observed a golf cart drive onto TLA’s Athletic Field. Another Officer was dispatched to the area to attempt to make contact with the cart. However, the individuals in the cart avoided the Officer and drove away. The Officer pursued the cart in order to obtain any identifying information and was able to briefly make contact with the occupants, who stated they were staying in South Harbor. The Officer informed the individuals they were trespassing and attempted to get their names but was unsuccessful. While the second Officer was with the golf cart, the first Officer proceeded to the Athletic Field and discovered tire marks where the golf cart had done donuts and driven through the mud. Additionally, there were a few empty alcohol bottles and cans on the field. Upon finding the damages, Officers patrolled Green Island Road in an attempt to locate the golf cart, but they were unsuccessful. The identity of the golf cart occupants remains unknown.
