Two-Day Watercolor Workshop

TLA Implementing Flock Cameras

  • The Landings Association (TLA) is implementing Flock Safety LPR (Automated License Plate Reader) cameras, a public safety system that uses license plate reading technology to enhance neighborhood security.
  • License plate information is frequently requested by police during investigations of incidents such as home and vehicle break-ins. The cameras are designed to capture objective evidence and send real-time alerts to local authorities.

  • Kris Williams, Executive Director of The Caretta Research Project (CRP) is the featured speaker.
  • CRP is a remarkable initiative that combines research, conservation, and education to protect nesting sea turtles on Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge.

CDD Weekly Update

  • Routine inspections were conducted in Oakridge and Moon River this week. Follow-up and requested inspections were conducted throughout the island.
  • This week, two properties were contacted regarding new violations of the Private Property Maintenance Standards, and one property was contacted to provide courtesy education regarding property maintenance standards.

  • Marinas staff are finalizing the Landings Harbor Dry Rack projects for the fourth and final phase.
  • Staff continue investigating the expansion and financial impact at Delegal Creek Marina.
  • Staff have been performing routine maintenance around Delegal Creek Marina to prepare for the upcoming transient season.

  • At the request of The Village Property Owners’ Association (POA), in-house staff repainted The Village entrance sign. 
  • In-house staff repaired an irrigation line at Delegal Creek Marina’s Sunset Pavilion that was damaged for the third time this year.
  • Staff was notified about a fish kill this week in Lagoon 76 (located on the 15th hole of the Palmetto golf course).

On the Security Scene

  • On Monday, September 8, an employee of Carefree Boat Club stopped at the Main Gate to report a theft and submit a request to view video footage.
  • On Thursday, September 4, Landings Security responded to Mainsail Crossing for a report of a vehicle accident.
  • On Thursday, September 4, a suspicious person on McWhorter Drive between West Ridge Road and the Marshwood Gate was reported to Landings Security by our USDA Representative.

Yard Debris Proper Placement Reminder

  • Residents are reminded that yard debris is not to be placed on common property, storm drain caps, roadways, in the gutter valleys along the roadways, near mailboxes, fire hydrants, and street signs, or under low-hanging branches.
  • Additionally, do not allow your lawn contractors or tree companies to place items on the curb or common property. Lawn contractors, tree companies, and landscapers should take the debris with them.
  • As shown in the diagram below, debris should be placed in the right-of-way, behind the curb, or pavement edge.
