Public Works…Working for You!
- This week, PINCO began lowering the water levels in Lagoon 45 (located off of Westcross Road and Log Landing Road) to replace the water control structure that was found to be inoperable during routine testing of the structure.
- KM Striping completed seal coating Pensyre Retreat this week, while the repaving of Vandy Court has been resheduled to next week due to the forecast of rain.
On the Security Scene
- On Sunday, September 21, Landings Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a hit and run accident.
- On Sunday, September 21, Landings Security responded to Mad Turkey Crossing for a report of a theft.
- On Wednesday, September 17, Landings Security responded to Priest Landing Drive and Harbor View Court for a report of a man harassing a woman and following her down the street.
President’s Update – September 24, 2025
- October retained its name from Latin and Greek (ôcto meaning eight). The old Roman Calendar started in March, so October was the eighth month before January and February were added.
- In many cultures, October is associated with the harvest season and the beginning of autumn. It’s weather is usually delightful, and it is a month of many sports and the sports equinox.
- Other October events include Columbus Day, Breast Cancer Awareness, World Teachers’ Day, Halloween, Oktoberfest, and National Dessert Day. The first iPhone was released on October 29, 2007.
- Things have changed a lot in the years from Columbus to the iPhone. The Association continues to build upon our community’s history, while always being attuned to protecting the future of our community. Highlights of some community happenings taking place this month are listed below.

Budget Box: Speed Violation Fine Structures
- In 2024, The Landings Association recorded a total 3,592,513 vehicle entries into the community and 19,640 active RFIDs by year’s end.

- As of September 15, 2025, the community already has seen 2,192,881 vehicle entries for the year, with 21,626 active RFIDs in circulation.

- Skidaway Audubon volunteers have rescued thousands of Diamondback terrapins eggs from sand traps in The Landings this summer, and the little hatchlings are ready to be released into the wild.
- Landings residents are invited to come help send these adorable newborns on their way. Community hatchling releases are scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at Sunset Park. An additional release is set for Oct. 12 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Two-Day Watercolor Workshop
