2025 Landings Roundtable Recap

  • The Landings Association hosted its annual Landings Roundtable with elected and appointed officials on November 4.
  • The intent of these meetings is to provide a forum for obtaining information, seeking support, or making requests on various issues impacting The Landings.
  • Additionally, the Roundtable brings all the various parties together into one room at the same time, so everyone can state their issues and openly discuss them in a positive and respectful way.

On the Security Scene

  • On Sunday, November 2, Landings Security, Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD), and Skidaway Island First Responders (SIFR) responded to a bicycle accident on Landings Way South near Lagoon #22.
  • On Thursday, October 30, Landings Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to Landings Way South near Activity Drive for a report of an individual trespassing.
  • On Tuesday, November 4, Landings Security received a call from a resident on Delamotte Lane regarding a suspicious person in the area.

  • The Well at Skidaway Island Methodist Church is committed to serving our community by providing a compassionate space for individuals to donate new and gently used items. Donations are distributed to local charitable organizations in the greater Savannah area.

  • This week, our service provider, Pye Barker, completed the annual testing and inspection of the fire extinguishers located in each of our facilities, vehicles, equipment, and Marinas.
  • In-house staff completed the installation of the retaining wall at the intersection of Bartram Road and Priest Landing Drive this week ahead of schedule.

On the Security Scene

  • On Thursday, October 23, Landings Security and Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the intersection of Bartram Road and Landings Way North.
  • On Sunday, October 26, Landings Security responded to Sundew Road for a report of suspicious people in the area.
  • On Tuesday, October 28, Landings Security spoke with a resident regarding a suspicious incident that occurred the previous day during a delivery at their home.

  • Marinas staff removed all boats from the D, E, and F racks in preparation of phase three of the dry rack reconstruction project.
  • Coastal Construction began restroom renovations at Landings Harbor Marina on Tuesday.

CDD Weekly Update

  • Routine inspections were conducted in Midpoint and Plantation this week.
  • Follow-up and requested inspections were conducted throughout the island.
  • This week, six properties were contacted regarding new violations of the Private Property Maintenance Standards, and no properties were contacted to provide courtesy education regarding property maintenance standards.

President’s Update – October 29, 2025

 

  • November obtained its name from the Latin word “novem,” meaning nine. The old Roman calendar started in March, and November was the ninth month before January and February were added.
  • November is best known for Thanksgiving and Veterans Day, but it’s packed with an abundance of special days of awareness and observances to celebrate.
  • The Landings Association thanks our Veterans and all who serve our country and our community. We also are thankful for our wonderful and special island home.

General Manager’s Update November 2025

  • As Thanksgiving approaches, I am reminded of the strength, dedication, and kindness that define our community.
  • This season is a perfect time to reflect on our accomplishments and express heartfelt appreciation for everyone who contributes to our shared success.
  • We have so much to be thankful for at The Landings Association, and I want to highlight a few areas that deserve our gratitude.
  • Staff remain dedicated to advancing the primary objectives outlined in the Association’s 2025-2027 Strategic Plan.
  • New TLA Website – I am excited to announce that our new website will launch by year-end. This project has benefited greatly from the feedback and contributions of more than 58 Beta Testers, who currently are working their way through the site to ensure features are functioning as they should. Thank you to each volunteer who is helping to shape the site to better serve our members.
  • New Weather-Resistant Furnishings – At a recent Senior Staff Drop-in, our members asked, and we listened, regarding providing furnishings at our outdoor amenities that are better able to withstand the elements. If you haven’t done so already, check out the new stools at the Tiki Bar, as well as the Adirondak chairs on the Ship Store’s porch.

  • To begin our 49th season, your Savannah Wind Symphony presents a concert entitled ENIGMA on November 9 at 3 p.m.in Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus Fine Arts Auditorium.
  • Expect the unexpected. Something about our selections may be puzzling, ambiguous, or inexplicable.
  • We may present a riddle or statement with hidden meaning.
  • Ultimately, our puzzle will be revealed as you take in the beauty and majesty of the music.
