The Landings community received designation as the first sustainable community in Georgia in February of 2018. The decision to pursue certification as a Sustainable Community was made in 2013 as a project of Skidaway Audubon with support from The Landings Association and The Landings Club. A steering committee guided the process with resident volunteers, staff, and professionals, including those from UGA Marex and the State Park, contributing their expertise. Sustainable certification for the community is a Landings Association Strategic Plan objective.
