Bicycle Accident
On Sunday, November 2, Landings Security, Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD), and Skidaway Island First Responders (SIFR) responded to a bicycle accident on Landings Way South near Lagoon #22. Upon arrival, the Officer witnessed a juvenile girl on the ground. The young girl stated that she had collided with a tree while riding her bicycle and flipped over. She sustained some minor injuries from the crash and was treated on scene. The girl’s parents arrived on scene and took their daughter home.
Trespass
On Thursday, October 30, Landings Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to Landings Way South near Activity Drive for a report of an individual trespassing. The Dispatch Officer reported that the individual walked through the RFID lane at the Main Gate and refused to stop for Officers. When Officers finally made contact with the individual, he stated that he was heading to Savannah. Officers informed the man that he was on private property and needed to leave. The man did not appear to be in his right frame of mind and continued to refuse to listen to Officers. Eventually, the man complied with CCPD and provided his identification. A criminal trespass notice was issued, and the man was escorted off property by CCPD. There were no further issues.
Vandalism
On Thursday, October 30, while conducting routine premise checks, Landings Security found that cupcakes had been thrown at the wall and on the ground at the Athletic Field restrooms. An Officer reviewed the video footage and witnessed two male individuals arrive in a vehicle, removing the cupcakes from the vehicle, and then throwing them at the wall before leaving. Video footage is being reviewed for possible identification of the suspects.
Suspicious Incident
On Tuesday, November 4, Landings Security received a call from a resident on Delamotte Lane regarding a suspicious person in the area. The caller advised that his daughter had been playing in the front yard when a work van stopped in front of the house. A male occupant exited the vehicle and called out to the girl as she ran to go inside her home. An Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description provided. There were no further reports regarding this vehicle. Video footage continues to be evaluated for vehicles matching the description.
Traffic Safety Update
The Guardian Pro Camera has been deployed at Shellwind Drive near Sundew Road. From October 29 to November 4, there were 46 violations. The highest record speed was 56 MPH.
TLA Rules and Regulations Enforcement (sans Guardian Pro)
- One vendor was cited for not having safety cones.
- One resident was cited for overnight parking on the street.
- One resident was cited for having a boat on property overnight.
