The CDD team has been busy this week. Following is a closer look at what they’ve been working on.
Private Property Maintenance Standards
Routine inspections were conducted in Oakridge and Moon River this week. Follow-up and requested inspections were conducted throughout the island. This week, two properties were contacted regarding new violations of the Private Property Maintenance Standards, and one property was contacted to provide courtesy education regarding property maintenance standards.
The Community Development Department has seen unprecedented permitting activity throughout 2025 and is expected to issue more permits this year than ever before. This week, we surpassed 1,000 permits issued year-to-date. That is more permits issued in eight months, than was issued the entire year of 2020. Each one of these permits equates to investment in the community and into the existing housing stock. Whether it is as simple as repainting a home, or as complex as performing a major renovation to an existing home, all these incremental improvements add value to everyone’s home and to the community at large.
