Did you know the 511 Georgia website and mobile app provides real-time traffic information, including live traffic cameras, alerts for incidents, construction, and weather to help drivers plan their routes and anticipate delays? The service, including roadside assistance is free, and the platform includes features like dynamic message signs, rest area information, and Waze integration.
Users also can receive personalized text or email alerts for specific routes, incidents, or weather conditions by creating a My511 account. You can download the 511 Georgia app from the store of your Apple and Android devices or visit the website (511ga.org).
Once you have set up your My511 account it is easy to customize your cameras. First, click on the hamburger menu (the three lines) in the top, left corner of the screen > select “511 Web”. Then login to this area of the app with your username and password. To login, click the person icon at the top, right side of the screen. Then click the hamburger menu again and select “My 511” > “My Cameras” > and click on “Camera Page” in the second bulleted item at the top of the screen. In the search box, type in “Savannah” or the name of the city in Georgia whose cameras you want to view. Then scroll through until you find your camera location of choice. You can add a camera to your favorites by clicking on the three dots next to the camera’s name. Then select “My Camera View”. To view the camera’s live stream, click on “show video” at the top of the image.
