Welcome to Waste Not Wednesday, where we share ideas to recycle items through reuse.
Today’s Waste Not Wednesday tip was submitted by Landings resident Rochelle Frank. Frank and her team take ordinary plastic bags and convert them into sleeping mats for Savannah’s homeless. The bags are cut up and put together to make plastic yarn (plarn). Then the plarn is crocheted into 2.5×6 foot mats.
To volunteer to help make plarn mats for those in need this holiday season, email Carol (MStarArts@gmail.com).
To share your Waste Not Wednesday idea, please email lynnl@landings.org. Be sure to include your name, and we will make certain to give you credit for your tip.
