
Accidents
On Wednesday, March 26, Landings Security, Chatham County Police Department (CCPD), and Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) responded to McWhorter Drive and Landings Way North for a report of a two-vehicle accident. The driver of the second vehicle stated he was driving south on McWhorter Drive and noticed the first vehicle heading north. The first vehicle proceeded to slow down and attempted to turn into the Deer Creek McWhorter Gate, hitting the second vehicle as it was approaching. The first driver was found at fault for the accident. Fortunately, neither party was injured. Both vehicles were removed from the scene via tow truck.
Landings Security, CCPD, CCFD, and Skidaway Island First Responders (SIFR) responded to Diamond Causeway and Lake Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday, March 26. The first vehicle was waiting to make a left turn into The Village when the driver pulled out too far and collided with the second vehicle. The first driver was found at fault for the accident and cited for failure to yield. The second driver was cited for driving without a license. The first driver reported experiencing some pain from the accident and left the area with her husband.
On Saturday, March 29, Landings Security, CCPD, CCFD, and Chatham Emergency Services (CES) responded to the Franklin Creek Tennis Center for a report of a golf cart accident. The owner of the golf cart advised that they were playing tennis when they heard a crashing sound. Upon walking in the direction of the sound, he noticed that his golf cart had crashed into a large pine tree. Someone attending an event on premises drove the cart without the owner’s permission and ran into the tree. The owner of the cart spoke with the event organizer, who agreed to handle the damaged cart privately. The guest was evaluated on scene but did not require further medical attention. The Landings Golf Car Center was contacted to tow the golf cart from the scene.
On Tuesday, April 1, Landings Security responded to the Marshwood gate entrance for a report of a minor fender bender between two vehicles. The first driver advised that she forgot she was in a rental vehicle and entered the RFID lane. When the barrier arm did not activate, she attempted to back up and struck the vehicle behind her. Both individuals chose to handle the incident privately and did not wish to involve CCPD.
Domestic Dispute
On Sunday, March 30, Landings Security and CCPD responded to a domestic dispute. No parties were injured, and no arrests were made.
Suspicious Vehicle
On Wednesday, March 26, Landings Security responded to Diamond Causeway near the bridge for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The complainant advised that the vehicle had parked near the woods and all occupants had exited the vehicle. Upon arrival, the Officer located three individuals fishing in the lagoon. The individuals were identified as non-residents, and the Rules were explained. The three men apologized and left the area.
Traffic Safety
The Guardian Pro camera/LIDAR system was moved to Westcross Road at Sparnel Road. From March 26 to April 1, there were 36 violations.

TLA Rules and Regulations Enforcement (sans Guardian Pro)
- A resident and a guest received a warning for overnight parking on the street.
- A vendor received a citation for not having safety cones.
- A vendor received a citation for not having safety cones.
